FCP Update Yu Cannot Ignore

Contract Award Search Move To SAM

GSA has upgraded how the public searches federal contract award data. The old public search tool in FPDS.gov, known as ezSearch, has been retired. All contract award search functions have moved to SAM.gov. If someone tries to visit FPDS.gov, they will automatically be redirected to SAM.gov because that platform is now the single place to search federal contract awards.

The government says that every contract award record that previously lived in FPDS.gov is now available in SAM.gov, nothing has been removed. The information simply moved into one modern system. To search contract awards, users now need a SAM.gov account. Accounts are created through Login.gov once logged in, users can access the Contracting Search feature to find award data.

SAM.gov is now the official source for federal procurement information. Agencies, analysts, and contractors use this data to track spending trends, research agencies, and analyze contracting activity. Search results include all publicly available, unclassified contract actions above the micro purchase threshold, along with any contract modifications that update previously reported information.

The new system also improves how users search and navigate data. SAM.gov now connects contract opportunities, contract awards, and subcontract reporting records in one location. Users will notice easier navigation, familiar search filters, and drop-down menus that help narrow results quickly. Searches are more flexible because users can run partial searches instead of entering exact information.
