Michael J. Rigas has been appointed by President Donald J. Trump to serve as the Acting Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). In this capacity, Rigas is responsible for overseeing one of the federal government’s largest civilian agencies, which provides centralized procurement, real estate, and technology services to support the operations of federal departments and agencies.
Rigas has more than 25 years of cross-sector leadership experience, contributing to the understanding of organizational transformation and federal management. The agency states that his appointment to lead GSA reflects the administration’s confidence in his ability to enhance efficiency, accountability, and service delivery across the government.
Prior to this appointment, Rigas held multiple senior positions in the Trump administration, including Acting Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Acting Deputy Director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and Senior Advisor at GSA.
