Who Benefits From Continued Resolution?

With Congress recently passing a stopgap funding bill, it allowed the government to remain open until November 17 of this year. Congress now has until that time to negotiate and approve the long-term spending bill which should begin November 18, 2023 and end September 30, 2024.  The stopgap funding also known as continued resolution allows federal workers and active-duty employees to be paid on time. Funding for programs such as food and nutrition as well as natural disaster funding continues. The Federal Aviation Administration remains operational and current policies for border security continue.

Federal contractors should be sure to remain in communication with their assigned Contract Officer and/or Specialist during this time to gain a better understanding of compliance of the contract, consideration of essential employees, and access to federal facilities.
