SAM.gov Glitch Just Reset Your Status

If your SAM.gov registration has been acting strange lately, you’re not imagining it. A known glitch that surfaced this spring and summer has been quietly wiping out NAICS code data, small business status, and other representations across a lot of vendor profiles sometimes flipping a clean Y/N certification to N/A with zero warning.

Here’s why this matters: contracting officers pull your reps and certs straight from SAM.gov when they’re evaluating eligibility for set-asides. If your small business status shows as N/A instead of Y, you could get screened out of opportunities you’re fully qualified for, or worse, run into a compliance issue on a contract you’ve already been awarded. This isn’t a “check it when you get around to it” problem. It’s a “check it this week” problem.

How to check and fix it:

• Log in and review. Go to your SAM.gov Workspace, pull up your entity record, and open the Representations and Certifications section. Confirm your small business and socioeconomic status reps are accurate under 52.219-1.
• Check your NAICS codes. Make sure your primary and secondary codes still match your current size standards, and that every NAICS tied to your business is certified Y/N, not sitting at N/A.
• Re-certify if needed. If your data dropped out, choose “Update or renew my entire entity registration” and walk back through the questionnaire.
• Escalate if it won’t fix itself. If your status keeps vanishing despite an active, valid registration, file a ticket with the Federal Service Desk (FSD.gov) and get it documented.
