Federal Agencies Gain Access to Advanced AI

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and OpenAI have announced a OneGov partnership to make advanced artificial intelligence technology more accessible to the federal government. Through this agreement, OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise will be offered to participating agencies at a deeply discounted rate, supporting modernization initiatives and enhancing public service delivery.

This collaboration directly aligns with the White House’s America’s AI Action Plan and reflects GSA and OpenAI’s shared commitment to equipping federal employees with cutting-edge tools that improve efficiency, productivity, and decision-making. By expanding AI capabilities across government, the partnership aims to strengthen mission performance and deliver better outcomes for the American taxpayer.

Under the agreement, every participating federal agency will receive access to ChatGPT Enterprise for a nominal $1 fee for one year, with an additional 60-day period of unlimited use of advanced models. Federal employees will also gain access to a dedicated government AI user community, introductory training resources, and tailored learning opportunities, available either directly from OpenAI or through partner-led sessions.

The initiative supports OMB Memoranda M-25-21 and M-25-22, which promote the accelerated adoption and efficient acquisition of AI in government. Agencies can obtain this offering through GSA’s Multiple Award Schedule, enabling a streamlined path to government-wide AI adoption.
